Pricing

Subscription: Zapier's Help docs mention Zapier Agents plans and activities, plus the move to task-based billing in AI by Zapier. Their blog mentions task multipliers for different model tiers. The pages we read don't list exact dollar prices, so pricing is unknown for now.

Getting set up

Per Zapier Help: go to agents.zapier.com (for the older Agents) or use AI by Zapier in the Zap editor. Connect your apps, set a trigger and tools, test it, and publish. Enterprise accounts may need an admin to turn it on at agents.zapier.com.

The plain-English overview

Already connecting your apps with Zapier and wondering where AI fits? Here's the quick version. Zapier lets you add AI right where you need it: inside a workflow, as an agent, or as a customer chatbot. You manage it all from one place. That's how Zapier's AI page puts it (checked Oct 27, 2026). The idea is that your app connections and rules go with you no matter which AI model you use.

Zapier says you can connect AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor, and get to a big library of app actions. Their marketing number is 30,000+ actions across 9,000+ apps.

So what's an agent, in Zapier's words? Their Help article "Build an agent in Zapier Agents" (updated Oct 1, 2026, which we read on Oct 27, 2026) calls agents AI-powered assistants that do work for you. They can also use knowledge sources you give them.

Here's how it works, step by step: First, you start at agents.zapier.com. Next, you give the agent a trigger (what starts it) and the tools or actions it's allowed to use. Then, you publish it so it can run on its own. One thing to know: these agents are personal automations. You can't embed them on your website for customers. Zapier points you to Zapier Chatbots for that. The same article also says Zapier is moving Agents over to AI by Zapier.

Zapier's blog post "Zapier Agents is now AI by Zapier" (read Oct 27, 2026) explains where everything moves. An agent becomes an AI by Zapier step inside the Zap editor, with your prompt, tools, trigger, and permissions. You can require approval for each tool, see runs in Zap History, and get billed in tasks. When that post went up, some knowledge-source connectors weren't supported in AI by Zapier yet.

A quick heads-up: the customer success numbers on zapier.com/ai are Zapier's own marketing claims, so we've stuck to what the docs say. Zapier's pricing page has current plan prices.
