Pricing

Freemium: From Zapier's pricing page (Oct 28, 2026): Chatbots Free (up to 2 chatbots), Pro $13.33/month billed annually ($160/year), Advanced $66.67/month billed annually ($800/year), Custom via sales. Monthly-billing prices weren't shown, and knowledge-source limits are described inconsistently on the page.

Getting set up

According to Zapier: if you have a Zapier account, you can log in and start with Chatbots for free. Add your FAQs, docs, or links, then share the link or embed the bot on your site (embedding needs a paid plan).

The plain-English overview

Want a bot on your website that answers customer questions from your own content, without code? That's Zapier Chatbots, Zapier's no-code chatbot builder. Here's what Zapier's official pages say, as of Oct 28, 2026.

Here's how it works, step by step: First, add your knowledge. Zapier says you can add FAQs, docs, and public links, or upload files and connect Zapier Tables, so the bot answers like you would. Next, customize it. You give it a custom directive (its objective, role, and style) and pick its colors. Then, collect leads. Paid plans can collect lead info from visitors. After that, share it. Share a public link, or embed it on your web page in-line or as a pop-up. And last, review. You can read past conversation transcripts.

Why it's handy for a small business: because it's part of Zapier, a chatbot can kick off automations with your other apps. Zapier says it connects to 8,000+ apps, so a lead from the chat could land in your CRM or a spreadsheet.

Pricing, as listed on Zapier's pricing page (Chatbots tab):

  • Free: build up to 2 chatbots with custom directives, using OpenAI's GPT-3.5 model, and share a public link. Conversation history covers 7 days.
  • Pro: $13.33 a month, billed annually ($160 a year). Up to 5 chatbots, embed on your website, collect lead info, and connect your own API key for more AI models. 14 days of history.
  • Advanced: $66.67 a month, billed annually ($800 a year). Up to 20 chatbots, remove the Zapier logo, and 30 days of history.
  • Custom: contact Zapier for more than 20 chatbots.

One heads-up: the page describes knowledge-source limits in two different ways (for example, "10 custom knowledge sources" in one spot and "1 knowledge source" in another for Pro). So check the current limits before you choose a plan. Monthly-billing prices weren't shown, so those are unknown for now.

A quick note: the customer quotes and stats on Zapier's page are its own marketing, so we've left them out.
