Content Repurposing with AI Agents

For: Marketing · Difficulty: Beginner

The problem: You made one good thing, like a video, a podcast episode, or a blog post. Turning it into a newsletter blurb, social posts, and show notes takes hours you don't have, so it just sits there.

What you end up with: A set of drafts made from one piece of content, like a newsletter section, a few social posts, and a short summary, all in your voice and waiting for your OK before anything is published.

What you'll need

One finished piece of content with a transcript or text version, a short note about your voice and audience, and a list of the places you want to post.

Getting set up

Wrote something great once and want more mileage out of it? This playbook sticks to what each tool's own docs say. First, pick a tool. Gumloop lists content creation agents that draft in your voice and turn calls into multi-channel posts. Make lets you add manual approvals on its visual canvas. In AI by Zapier, you can mix AI steps with fixed steps and require approval before a tool runs. Next, decide your outputs. Start small, maybe one newsletter section and three social posts. Then, write a short voice note: who you're talking to, words you like, and words you never use. And last, keep publishing manual at first. Let the agent draft, and you hit publish.

Step by step

  1. Give the agent the transcript or text of one piece of content.
  2. Ask it to pull out the three to five most useful points, with a quote or timestamp for each.
  3. Have it draft each output you picked, one at a time.
  4. Ask it to flag any claim that needs checking before it goes out.
  5. Review the drafts. Fix the voice, check the facts, and cut anything that doesn't sound like you.
  6. Approve, and publish or schedule them yourself, or let the agent schedule them after you approve.
  7. After a few rounds, save the steps as a routine so each new piece runs the same way.

A prompt to start with

Try this prompt, and tweak it for your tool. "Here's the transcript of my latest [video / episode / post]. First, list the 3 to 5 most useful points, each with a supporting quote. Then draft: 1) a 150-word newsletter section, 2) three short social posts, 3) a two-sentence summary. Write in my voice (notes below). Only use what's in the transcript. Flag anything that needs a fact check. Don't publish anything until I approve it."

What you'll get

A short list of key points with quotes, plus ready-to-review drafts for each channel you picked, all based on the original piece.

If something goes wrong

If drafts sound like everyone else, add a couple of your own past posts as examples. If the agent adds facts that aren't in the source, remind it to use only the transcript and to flag guesses. If the transcript is messy, clean it up or split it into sections first.

Keep in mind

Only repurpose content you own or have rights to use. The agent can misquote or overstate things, so a person should check every draft before it's published.
