Pricing

Subscription: From OpenAI's pricing page (Oct 28, 2026): Business is priced per user per month, billed monthly or annually, starting at 2 users, with Standard and Premium seats. A dollar price for Business wasn't shown on the pages we checked, so it's unknown for now. Nonprofits: up to 75% off.

Getting set up

According to OpenAI: sign up for ChatGPT Business (from 2 users), pick Standard or Premium seats for each person, and connect plugins for the tools your team uses. Admins manage usage, permissions, security, and spend.

The plain-English overview

Is your team already using ChatGPT and ready for a shared, managed version? ChatGPT Business is the team version, with a shared workspace, admin controls, and agent features that go beyond chat. Here's the short version from OpenAI's official pages, as of Oct 28, 2026.

Here are the agent-style features, in OpenAI's words:

  • ChatGPT Work: give it a goal, and it can gather context, make a plan, complete the work, and check in when it needs your input or approval.
  • Dots: always-on agents that understand your priorities and keep work moving between conversations, with you in control. These are for Business Premium seats in eligible markets.
  • Plugins: connect ChatGPT to the tools your team already uses, so it can find context and take action.
  • Space: a shared place for files and context, where your team builds pages together and schedules tasks.

OpenAI gives examples like prepping for reviews in operations, turning campaign briefs into launch-ready assets in marketing, and keeping sales account notes current.

Seats: you can mix and match. Standard seats are for everyday work. Premium seats include 5× more usage, no five-hour limit, and access to Dots.

On privacy, OpenAI says your Business data is never used to train its models, and everything is encrypted, with SSO and multi-factor sign-in.

Pricing: OpenAI's pricing page says paid plans are priced per user per month, and Business can be paid monthly or annually, starting at 2 users. But neither page we checked showed a dollar price for Business seats, so the price isn't listed here and is unknown for now. Business and Enterprise can also buy credits for more access. Nonprofits can get up to 75% off Business or Enterprise, per OpenAI.

A quick note: the customer stories and savings figures on OpenAI's page are its own marketing, so we've left them out.
