Muse for Small Business: Meta Adds Business Tools to Its Agent

Sep 29, 2026

On September 29, 2026, Meta announced Muse for Small Business, adding skills and connectors so Muse can work with tools like Shopify, QuickBooks, Canva, Stripe, and your Facebook and Instagram business accounts.

Short on hours, not ideas? Meta says small business owners told it exactly that, and it built Muse for Small Business in response. Here's what Meta's official newsroom post says, as we read it on Oct 28, 2026.

What Meta announced on Sept 29, 2026:

  • Goals, not just questions: Meta says you can give Muse a goal, like running your business or finding new customers, and it gets it done.
  • Your Meta accounts: Muse can connect your Instagram professional account analytics, Facebook Pages, and Meta ad accounts, and Meta says it already understands what you sell, what your brand sounds like, and what customers keep asking.
  • Other tools: connectors include Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe, and Zoom. Muse also supports custom connectors.
  • You're in control: Meta says nothing publishes, sends, or spends without your approval.
  • Proactive help: Meta says Muse can flag emails that need a response and write first drafts.
  • Price: Meta says Muse is free for most of what people need, with subscription plans for people who want more.

Prompts Meta suggests trying:

  • "How was my business's financial performance this month? Find any expenses that look off."
  • "How do I improve my ads and content? Can you analyze what's working or not, and draft a campaign for next week?"
  • "Analyze this year's sales, campaigns, and social and make me a growth plan."

Who should pay attention: small businesses that sell or market on Instagram and Facebook, especially in the US and Canada, where Meta first launched Muse.

A small-business example: a family butcher shop connects its Instagram account and QuickBooks. The owner asks Muse which posts brought the most comments last month and what expenses look unusual. Muse drafts a weekend post about a new sausage, and the owner edits it before approving. (Our illustration of what Meta describes.)

Questions to ask before you connect tools:

  • Which one or two connections would save you the most time?
  • Who else on your team should approve posts or spending?
  • What will you check in QuickBooks or your ad account before acting on an answer?

Plain-English terms:

  • Connector: a link that lets Muse read or act in another app.
  • Custom connector: a way to plug in a service Meta doesn't support yet.
  • Skill: a ready-made way for Muse to handle a kind of task.

How to start:

  • Try one of Meta's suggested prompts with one connected account.
  • Approve only what you've read.
  • Add more connectors once the first one is useful.
