According to Botpress: no credit card is needed to start and no developers are required. You build agents with natural language, connect via OAuth, and either plug into your existing helpdesk or use Botpress Desk.

The big idea: Botpress agents don't just answer questions. Botpress says they take real action, like:
- Refunds, approved and issued under the same conditions a person on your team would use.
- Account updates, like changing a plan or fixing billing details.
- Order corrections, like reissuing a shipment or fixing an address.
- Multi-step workflows that update a record, trigger the next step, and close the loop.
- Proactive outreach, reaching out before a renewal or a limit kicks in.
And when a ticket needs a person? Botpress describes a hot handoff. Your team picks up the ticket with the conversation history, account details, and the steps already tried. Botpress says its agents run on escalation rules and fallback logic that decide when the AI acts and when it passes the ticket to a human.
How it fits in: Botpress says it can work on top of the helpdesk you already have, or you can use Botpress Desk as your helpdesk. You build agents in natural language and connect your tools with OAuth (a standard, secure sign-in between apps), with no developers needed, per the site.
On security, Botpress says it's SOC 2 certified, GDPR compliant, and penetration tested by KPMG.

- Team: $750 a month, with 1,500 conversations a month, extra packs of 100 for $50, $150 of AI usage included, and unlimited seats.

A few pricing details worth knowing before you sign up. First, what counts as a conversation: any exchange with at least two messages from your customer in the billing month, and for voice, 3 minutes counts as one. Next, when you hit 95% of your quota, Botpress automatically adds a pack of 100 conversations, and per its FAQ you can't turn that off. You get warnings at 75% and 100%. The page also shows a monthly billing option, but we only read the annual prices, so monthly prices are unknown for now.
