What's changed with the big companies' AI agent tools this month: a product closed to new customers, a renamed page, and two toolkits with new names, each from the company's own site.
So what's new with the big tech companies' agent tools? Quite a bit, actually, and some of it is about names changing. Here's our roundup for October 2026. Every item comes from the company's own pages, checked on Oct 28, 2026.
Amazon: Bedrock Agents Classic is closed to new customers. AWS's Bedrock Agents page now says Amazon Bedrock Agents Classic is no longer available to new customers, and it points to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore instead. AWS says AgentCore works with any framework and any model, and it names LangChain, the OpenAI Agents SDK, the Claude Agent SDK, and the Strands SDK.
Google: the Agent Builder page now says Gemini platform. Google Cloud's Agent Builder product page now presents the Gemini platform, with Agent Studio, Model Garden (200+ models), the Agent Development Kit (ADK), and Google Antigravity for running several agents at once. New Google Cloud customers get $300 in free credits for 90 days, per the page.
Microsoft: Agent Framework succeeds Semantic Kernel and AutoGen. Microsoft Learn calls Agent Framework the direct successor to both, built by the same teams, with migration guides for each. It's available for Python and C#, with Go in public preview.
Anthropic: it's the Claude Agent SDK now. Anthropic's docs call it the Agent SDK and include a migration guide from the older Claude Code SDK packages. They also list Managed Agents, where Anthropic hosts the agent for you.
What this means for you: First, if you're picking a tool from one of these companies, check the current product name and page before you start. Old tutorials may point to the wrong place. Next, if you hired a developer, ask which of these they're building on and whether it's the current version. Then, keep a copy of how your setup works, outside the tool, in case things move again. And last, check back here. We'll keep watching.
