Pricing

AWS's Bedrock Agents and AgentCore pages (checked Oct 28, 2026) don't list prices, so pricing is unknown here for now.

Getting set up

According to AWS: you need an AWS account. Bedrock Agents Classic is no longer available to new customers, so newcomers start with AgentCore, using a framework like LangChain, the OpenAI Agents SDK, the Claude Agent SDK, or the Strands SDK.

The plain-English overview

So what's going on with Amazon Bedrock Agents? Here's the most important thing first. AWS's page now says Amazon Bedrock Agents Classic is no longer available to new customers, and it points you to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore instead (we checked both pages on Oct 28, 2026).

What Bedrock Agents does, per AWS: it uses AI models, your company's APIs, and your data to break down a request, gather what it needs, and finish the task. AWS lists:

  • Multi-agent collaboration, with a supervisor agent coordinating specialized agents.
  • Retrieval augmented generation, which means looking things up in your company's knowledge base before answering.
  • Orchestration: you pick a model, write instructions in plain language, and the agent calls the right APIs to get it done.
  • Memory across conversations.
  • Code interpretation, running code safely for things like data analysis and charts.
  • Bedrock Guardrails for safety.

What AgentCore is, per AWS: a platform for running AI agents in production. AWS says you can build with any framework and any model, and it names LangChain, the OpenAI Agents SDK, the Claude Agent SDK, and the Strands SDK. AgentCore handles the hard parts behind the scenes: checking who's allowed to call which tool, tracing what your agent did when something goes wrong, testing variations, and scaling on AWS.

Who's it for? Developers and technical teams already working on AWS. This isn't a point-and-click tool for most small business owners.

Pricing: neither page lists prices, so pricing is unknown here for now.

A quick note: the speed and savings figures on the AgentCore page come from AWS and a study it cites, so we've left them out.
