The Grok Bot Vault: Logins, Cards, and Contact Info

Checked against xAI's official docs on Oct 28, 2026

To do real work, a Bot sometimes needs a login, a card, or your address. Grok Bot keeps these in the Vault. Here's what xAI's changelog and Grok Bot 101 guide say about it, checked on Oct 28, 2026. Each point below is from xAI's own wording.

What the Vault holds

Password managers and sign-ins

xAI's changelog says 1Password connects without a shared vault: you approve each login in 1Password, which fills it in the Bot's browser without the Bot seeing it. xAI's Grok Bot 101 guide adds that when a flow needs you, the Bot can hand the desktop back so you can complete a CAPTCHA or a two-step login, or send you a secure form for a password or an API key.

Keeping entries current

Per the changelog, Bots can update a saved Vault entry's name, hint, and card details for you, and address fields suggest streets as you type, with a ZIP code filling in the city and state.

Good Vault habits: our suggestions

These are our ideas, not xAI's.

  1. Save only the logins your Bots actually need for their jobs.
  2. Use a business card with a sensible limit for Bot purchases, separate from your main card.
  3. Write clear hints, like "Use for supply orders only."
  4. Keep an Always Ask rule on every purchase. See Grok Bot approval rules.
  5. Remove entries you no longer use, and review the list every few months.
