Getting set up

According to Salesforce: you build agents in Agent Builder, a low-code tool inside Salesforce, using its Flows, prompts, MuleSoft API connectors, and Apex or JavaScript for custom logic. Every Salesforce customer can start for free with Salesforce Foundations.

The plain-English overview

Already running your business on Salesforce and curious what AI agents could do inside it? Agentforce is Salesforce's AI agent platform, built right into it. We read Salesforce's official pages on Oct 28, 2026. Here's the rundown.

Agentforce agents work on the web, on the phone, and in apps. Salesforce says they use your business data, like Salesforce CRM data, and work within guardrails you set. When an issue is beyond their scope, they can pass it to a person on your team.

What can they do? Salesforce lists ready-made agents, including:

  • Service Agent: answers questions, resolves cases, manages orders, and troubleshoots.
  • Sales Development (SDR): answers product questions, handles objections, and books meetings for your reps.
  • Sales Coach: role-play practice sessions for your sales team.
  • Merchandiser and Personal Shopper: help with ecommerce setup, promotions, and product recommendations.
  • Campaign Optimizer: helps run marketing campaigns from start to finish.

It also lists appointment scheduling and event support as uses.

How you build them: Agent Builder is Salesforce's low-code tool. You set up subagents, write instructions in plain language, and give the agent a library of actions to pick from. You can test its responses and see its plan in Agent Builder. Salesforce also lists Agent Script, Agentforce Voice, observability tools, MCP support (MCP is a standard way to plug AI into other apps), and multi-agent orchestration.

Pricing, as listed (US dollars):

  • Salesforce Foundations: $0 to get started with Agentforce for free.
  • Flex Credits: $500 per 100,000 credits. Each action uses 20 credits, and each Agentforce Voice action uses 30.
  • Conversations: $2 per conversation.
  • Agentforce User License: $5 per user per month.
  • Agentforce add-ons for Sales, Service, and Field Service: $125 per user per month.

A few things worth knowing: you can't use Flex Credits and Conversations in the same org, and unused Flex Credits don't roll over to the next term. If you go over, there's no penalty, you're billed at your contracted rate. The prices for Industries add-ons, Max Edition, and the Coworker license weren't shown, so those are unknown for now.

A quick note: the customer counts, analyst rankings, and results on Salesforce's site are its own marketing, so we've left them out.
